By allowing you to attach a Nikon DSLR (or SLR) camera lens to your Orion StarShoot Pro V2 or StarShoot Deep Space Monochrome Imager III, these handy adapters enable you to capture a super wide field-of-view. Most Nikon DSLR and SLR camera lenses are much more optically fast than many imaging telescopes, and as such provide a field-of-view far wider than most telescopes. Using a fast camera lens for astro-imaging also enables you to capture a tremendous amount of detail in comparatively shorter exposures. Wide-field expanses of night sky that would normally require a mosaic combination of narrow-field images can be captured quickly and easily in a single shot. Imagine capturing entire wide-field constellations such as Cygnus in a single exposure!
